WHAT IS A FOUR
PILLARS OF DESTINY READING
4 Pillars of Destiny or "Ba Zi" ("Eight Words") is an ancient Chinese
traditional metaphysical tool (a method of fortune telling/fate calculation)
that helps us with our destiny and future.
It is different from Western Astrology in that we do not need to plot the chart
with stars or planets. The other Chinese metaphysical tool, Zi Wei Do Zhu, does
make use of virtual stars.
The Four Pillars of Destiny is a profound Chinese technique for analyzing human
fortune based on a person's birth data. It is a fascinating system of fortune
telling that not only allows us to peek into our future, but also provides
insight into human nature, our individual in-born personality and potential,
relationships with people, marriage prospects, career directions, health, and
the up and down fortune cycles in life.
When arriving at critical points in life, it is also a positive tool in problem
solving and decision making. The technique can be engaged to cast light on all
kinds of problems, such as investment decisions, changing jobs, disharmony in
marriage life, financial problem, choosing career direction, selecting partners
and key personnel, etc.
What are the Four Pillars of Destiny?
According to Chinese belief, the moment a person is born determines the path of
life he will take. Simply, the 4P is a method of calculating and interpreting
the 5 elements of the qi you inhaled at the moment of birth. The uniqueness of
this fascinating system is that a person's birth data is transformed into 4
pillars of heavenly stems and earthly branches. It stresses balance and harmony.
The term "Four Pillars" refers to the four vital pieces of information in one's
birth data, namely the Year, Month, Day and Hour of Birth. We then convert them
into 4 pillars by using the 10 heavenly stems and 12 earthly branches in
accordance to the Chinese Solar Calendar (also known as Stem-Branch Calendar).
Hence we have 4 pillars, namely the Year Pillar, the Month Pillar, the Day
Pillar and the Hour Pillar.
By converting them into the 5 elements and interpreting the interaction among
these elements, we can learn to understand the natural forces affecting our
lives and fortune.
By using four pillars of destiny, much can be revealed about our life,
including our family background, relationship with our parents, personality,
potential, health, marriage, relationships, career, money, and probably more
important, the up-down fortune cycles.
The famous teacher of war strategy, Sun Tzu, once said, "Victory in battle
begins with knowing yourself and knowing your enemy."
Four Pillars of Destiny is to study the energy chart of a person and to explore
into his probable path of life.
You may ask: "Is there anything anyone can do about bad luck years to avert or
neutralize the negatives, or does one have to be fatalistic and just wait for
the good luck years?" Knowing our own strengths and weaknesses, as well as
others', we can change ourselves to live around and accept others, know when to
keep our mouths shut to avoid an unnecessary confrontation, know ahead of time
when we may have a possible loss of wealth (and thus not invest heavily), and
we can know when a good luck period is coming so that we can work harder to
obtain extra benefit.
To conclude, 4 pillars of destiny presents a method in which we can try to
decode the natal chart based on our time of birth, and to make use of the
information to enable us to understand the potentials and cycles of our lives,
and by making good use of those information to enhance our life, health and
prosperity.
By learning how the world's elements affect our lives, one is better equipped
to make sound decisions and pursue the right directions in life.
This knowledge will allow us to work within ourselves and our environment to
maximize positive potentials, while minimizing the negative.
So, where does all this lead? Knowing your favorable and unfavorable phases can
help you in many ways. You will know:
What outside environments are best suited to you;
What profession is suitable for you;
With whom you are compatible;
How to determine if a day, month, year, or 10-year period will be auspicious
or inauspicious.
