Not true, on any point. 4s will probably not be able to run IOS9, but should 
mot be upgraded to IOS8, as it is sluggish, at best  
Bt keyboard must have quick nav off in order to write in an edit field. 

Battery life seems to improve with each iteration of the phone

The whole 5 series is no better than the 4s you have unless the 5 series phone 
you get has more memory in it than your 4s.  Battery life is no good until you 
get a 6+ and that is the case since the 6+ battery is larger.
