My son is using the 5 which I gave him, and he is happy with the performance, and you know how kids are about social stuff and media. He is sighted though, so there may be a bit of difference in the usage between VO users and non-VO users. The camera on an iPhone 5 as 8MP, which is good for OCR and Barcodes, and the 5S camera is not really any better. For the price, I'd say go with it, as even if the update did not work, so what, nothing says you need to upgrade. Hi there! I know people who had an iPhone 4S with IOS 8.x and found the performance terribly sluggish. I myself have worked with an iPhone 5 with versions of IOS though not recent versions, think I sold my iPhone 5 when IOS 8.1 was around and it worked well. if you're offered the iPhone 5 for 80 pounds then to me that sounds perfectly reasonable. I'm now using an iPhone 5S having sold my iPhone, then upgraded to an iPhone 6 which I didn't like and then downgraded to an iPhone 5S which I do very much like.
