Howdy, Dropbox is just a cloud service like Amazon S3 or even Google Docs. no big deal about it: one can choose to use it or not. i once used it as a backup service until I saw no other benefit. this debate seems even to be raging right now about using cloud service over using offline solutions like storing my files on my disks and use a backup data company to safekeep such data disks.
However, one characteristic that makes Dropbox stand out is that, unlike other cloud services, at all times you are in charge of your files. you are able to open your files as long as you have a dropbox client on your desktop or iOS device. it is also easy to just add a file to the cloud by simply moving the file into the folder used by Dropbox. back to the issue of Notesy: I think it has an advantage that if you are a fan of Dropbox cloud storage, it is painless to store it on the Dropbox server if you are on an IOS device: no need to install a separate Dropbox app. you just save to the cloud and retrieve it on the desktop computer.
