Hello all I've been playing with the trackpad using the trackpad commander in VoiceOver. Maybe I'm doing something wrong; actually I think I must be because I just can't get the results I would expect to get.
So please forgive the seemingly basic questions; but as somebody who has vision this is quite a culture shock to me. The gestures have changed significantly and I need to make sure I'm doing this properly. I don't want to pronounce something broken when in fact it's more likely to be user error which is breaking it. So hear goes on my questions. Firstly, are you supposed to hold down the VoiceOver keys while you use the trackpad commander using either your inbuilt trackpad or the Magic Trackpad? If so, in the latter case doesn't it make things a little difficult for you; holding down keys on the keyboard with one hand whilst manipulating the trackpad with the other? Wouldn't it be simpler to just use the keyboard and be done with it? If you're not supposed to hold down the VoiceOver keys, then I really don't know what I'm doing wrong because I just can't get web pages, for instance, to work properly using Trackpad commander. I find that either my cursor goes whizzing off the page entirely or I don't move at all; usually the former of the two and I have to keep re-positioning the cursor to bring focus back to the website. So what could I be doing wrong here?
