Hello Eric

OK, are you specifically talking about the MacBook, as opposed to the Pro? If
that's the case then yes I think 4GB is indeed the limit. I was under the
impression that you had a MBP, sorry about that. I just presumed you were
generalising when you said MacBook.

I may be mistaken in wondering if my White case can handle 8 GB but sadly, i'm
not mistaken in saying that Apple states clearly that my 2009 6, 1 Mac Book can
only take up to 4 gB of ram. For example at Crucial when I run the check on my
system it says only 4 gig. On a earlier thread on this list I learned that
other sellers say I can go up to 8. I'd love to do that!

I did more research a week or so ago and landed on a Apple KB article about my
machine and it again says only expandable to 4GB.

When I bought my computer new I didn't know anything. I worked with the sales
person at Apple. I would have been glad to get the Pro but the sales person
seemed to think I didn't need it as the new White case was almost the same.
Well I know understand there are many differences I could now be taking
advantage of, if I only had the pro!

If it would help I'll see if I can find that article again. but if I'm right I
want free access to a helpful list where people warmly give me great advice on
keeping my Mac working great! Oh! and If I'm right I think I should earn
discounts on helpful books like the Take Control series!

If I'm wrong I'm upgrading to 8 GB of Ram!

I plan to come out ahead either way!

Best,
