Hello Geoff
You don't need the UsB port. You plug the Apple TV into your network, or
configure its wifi network and the software is downloaded via the Internet.

Hi Lynne,

Thanks much for the info. I understand that IOS5 will render it possible to
update without need to connect to iTunes, but until then, how is this done if
the USB port is unavailable?

If it is indeed possible to connect to iTunes I assume I could enable
voiceOver via the "configure universal access" dialog in iTunes? Are you
saying that its possible to turn VO on via the remote? Sorry if I totally
misinterpreted your post. I guess the bottom line question is how I can attach
to iTunes without the USB cable?

 Best regards.
 Geoff

 hello Geoff

Yes, this is correct; but you can do all of your iOS updates via iTunes. You
can configure Apple TV using the supplied remote.

We plan to do a podcast on this shortly, when Gordon is up to it.

 Greetings all,

I'm expecting an Apple tv shortly, and recall reading that the mini USB port
is not intended for use by consumers. Is this correct?

If so, presumably it's not possible to update the IOS version and I will not
be able to use it out of the box without getting someone to go into settings ->
general -> accessibility?

TIA for any clarification and best regards.
