Hello everybody

OK, I just tried installing Dropbox using the suggested method of making sure 
that everything relating to Dropbox is deleted, (including all preference 
files), then opening the application from the CD image rather than the 
Applications folder.

This method worked absolutely perfectly and we now have access to our account 
again using Lion.

it is crucial that you delete ***EVERYTHING*** related to DropBox, including 
***ALL*** preference files. If you don't, this won't work.
