Well I would have been surprised if there was any mention.  The out of box 
accessibility was absolutely critical to me, but is totally irrelevant to 99% 
of the population, hence the media would not consider that a very notable 
feature.

That is the grim reality which is why many developers can't be bothered with 
accessibility.

  First, from a historical standpoint, what were the factors that 
  prompted Apple to promote accessibility?  That wasn't always the 
  case.  Does anyone on the list know?  It was this accessibility out 
  of the box that got me to consider buying my MacBook Pro and iPhone.

  Second,  no one in the general media said anything about Apple's 
  products being accessible out of the box.  Compare that to PC's or 
  other smartphones.
