I assume you're staying with Sprint, in that case, you should be able
to keep your number, even if you switched carriers, the number could
probably be ported. There are some nice apps for gps, a 32 GB phone is
plenty, the entire United States takes about 1 GB with the iphone GPS
apps. The map engine Sendero uses for mobile geo is several years
behind the times. For navigation, check out navigon, TomTom, or motionx
GPS, that one is my favorite. To tell where you are, you may want to
get the sendero look around app. I use GPS on iphone and android and I
do not miss mobile geo at all, the main stream apps do what I need.
Original message:
Well, for the past 4 years, I have been using my Windows 6.5
phone since I refused to leave Sprint as a carrier. NOw, I can finally
get a modern phone to use in the iPhone that will be accessabile. My
main concern, is with losing MobileGeo just as I am about to start a
new job in a new location.
Now I expect with the builtin compass I should be beter off knowing if
I am walking in the right direction from the start, but will I need a
32GB phone to store a GPS app on it or am I fairly safe with a smaller
phone. Also, should I initially get a new phone number, so I can keep
my codefactory license live until I learn the iPhone?
I have been using Macintoshes since '88 and I am excited that now I
will have a chance to use an iPhone.
Thanks,
Jonathan
