Thanks James. Why don't you use virus protection? Is it because Mac's
usually don't get viruses?

Hi Barbara,

There are three that I am aware of but as yet don't use any. This is likely
to change in the near future though. The issue of Anti-Virus/Malware is a
little contentious among some in the Mac community. As i say, this is
changing though. Nevertheless, there are some companies who seem to be
reputable. Others on list will be able to advise on accessibility I'm sure.

1. Intego - Virus Barrier X
http://www.intego.com/virusbarrier/

You can also get a free version of this from the App Store, which will scan
your computer for infections etc, but *you* must run it manually. The paid
version is automatic though.

2. ProtectMac

3. MacScan
http://macscan.securemac.com/
4. F-Secure

TC :)

Also, apart from the Intego site, www.securemac.com often provides good
advice. Hope this helps On 31 Oct 2011, at 22:37, barbara jones wrote:
