What many of us might normally refer to as a database is referred to as a
"Library" in Bento-speak. I'm guessing this choice of words comes from the fact
that Bento is the low-end sibling of the Filemaker relational database package
where a database is made up of a number of libraries. Bento is a simple
flat-file application where libraries are not linked.

To add a new library using the Bento for iPhone app, go to the Bento Home
screen by tapping the button labeled "Home" in the bottom left corner of the
app, and then tap the button misleadingly labeled "RecordAdd" in the bottom
right corner of the screen. You can learn about adding libraries by reading the
help topic called "Working with Libraries."

I find the Bento Mac and iPhone apps to be very helpful and quite VO friendly,
although the Mac version is imperfect and tends to flake out with VO more often
than some other apps. The PDF version of the Bento for Mac user guide is one of
the few PDF documents that I found to be truly navigable in Preview. It is a
very good beginner's guide to Bento for Mac, but for more advanced work you'll
need to scour the web. I have not used their templates, but there is a hole
community that creates templates and makes them available through what they
call the Bento Template Exchange, which is linked from their website.
