We have a doc here made by memorex (spelling) and it works very
well. It provides charging capabilities, as well as acting as
speakers when the ipod/iphone is plugged in. It comes with several
adapter plates to make just about every model of device fit it's
docking port. I don't know how much they cost, since we found ours
at a place that sells luggage the airlines have lost (presumably
after it's been refound), and we paid something like 10 bucks or
something similar. However, it's an excellent set of speakers, and
sounds equally well with music or voice.

Greetings,
Perhaps this is hard to answer on an international list, but I am
seeking suggestions about a dock for my iPhone. Last year I
purchased a Logitech Pure-fi. I was very impressed with the size
and sound, but would never recommend this device based on my
experience. I believe I was gentle, but in a little over a year it
stopped docking properly with my 3GS. It would not supply power to
my phone or emit sound from it. Logitech customer service was
excellent during the warrantee period, but I reluctantly concluded
that Logitech docks are to fragile for my purposes.
Can anyone suggest a docking station that is durable, sounds good,
and won't break the bank like the Bose model? I wouldn't mind
springing for a Bose if the extra cost buys more than the company
name.
TIA for any/all suggestions and best regards.
Geoff
