Hello Lew Just personal opinion; but in your situation, if it were me, I'd go for the iPad because you can already do most of what you could do with the Air on your MBP, so you'd be maximising your investment in my humble opinion.
The iPad is an incredible device. We have one of the original ones and, although I cruel and slaver, (not quite), when I see the iPad II in shops and when my brother brings his over, I really can't justify the upgrade cost. If Apple had a "trade-in" where you could part-exchange your original or older model for a new one, I'd jump at it. But paying the full price is just a bit too heavy a burden for what we'd get out of it that we can't on the iPad. Yes; the forward and rear-facing cameras would be nice. Then again I don't like photos or pictures of myself being taken anyway for reasons which I won't go into here. Cameras were even banned from our wedding. But other than the superior speed, I'm not sure it would bring us sufficient "Oomph" to be able to justify it. Actually Tracy was thinking about the iPhone 4S for Gordon as a Christmas present; but hue politely declined the offer because he says he's happy enough with the 3GS for the moment. he only uses the iPhone for making and receiving phone calls now and then, and sending a large number of text messages a month, as well as email and web browsing when away from home. The iPad is used a lot more for audio/video as well as mobile data services. But again we really couldn't justify the upgrade. Lynne On 18 Nov 2011, at 17:20, Mr. L.
