Hi Folks! I wrote to the list a little while ago regarding the Reaper Audio Production software for Mac, as I said at the time the software seemed incredibly accessible and my view has not changed since.
One thing has come my way which has helped me understand Reaper more than I did a week ago, I downloaded the Reaper User Guide from the Reaper home page. I warn you now that this User Guide is huge, we're talking 19MB PDF file here but its packed with most useful information and the content/instructions are straight to the point. For example, if you look up "Recording With Reaper" in the contents then an outline of recording and the various methods, features and functions is presented so just "Follow along" or skip to the topic you require. Anyway back to the Reaper software, I think I asked last time on list how one recorded from the Line in of an Imac with Reaper? I've since found the answer and its quite simple though it becomes a somewhat more complex answer depending on the recording situation so let's take it at its simplest level and that is recording a stereo sound from the line-in with Reaper. First you create a new project and then a new track, you can select a wide range of options for your track including name and yep, the inputs from where you want to record and so on. Press the "Record" button or use the "Record" shortcut key and recording starts as you've set it.
