You are fortunate then. I have the latest Mini model available, the one that came out in July of 2011, and I could not run it without a monitor without a few major issues.
1. System preference changes would not stick. 2. Finder would become quite sluggish and unusable if you connected to external drives or volumes on a network. 3. Safari would become bogged down considerably.
