Hello, I would appreciate any tips on how to handle the following situation using Apple Mail on the latest level of Mac OS 10.7.
My wife and I each have two Gmail accounts set up as imap one for personal Email and the other for business Email. We each have a computer and a smart phone. I log on much more often than my wife does and so I monitor her Email so that I can tell her if anything urgent or interesting has arrived. Using imap means that I can monitor my mail on my iPhone and immediately delete much of it leaving the rest to be answered using my iMac where it is much easier to type. As I am using imap the items I have deleted from my iPhone do not then also appear on my iMac. This is all fine and works the way I want it to. The problem arises with my wife's Email. I just want to look at this and not delete any of it leaving it all to my wife to decide what to do with it. So all my wife's Email has to stay in my inbox until she gets round to handling it. What I would like to do is to have separate Email inboxes for me and my wife on Apple mail. I would like my inbox to include both my business and private Email accounts so that I can concurrently look at them both while keeping them entirely separated from my wife's Email. Is this possible and if so how do I set it up? If this is not possible could I look at my wife's imap Gmail using pop3 protocol with delete set to never while my wife continues to use imap protocol for the same accounts. I hope the above is not too confusing! Many thanks.
