Hello Listers,

For those following the strange behavior of my Mac Book when deleting the
trash here is a new piece of the puzzle.

Even after talking with Apple and trying many suggestions my Finder still
crashes if I try to empty the trash when it is empty. That is if I don't
realize the Trash is empty or just want to check if it is my finder will lock
up once I enter the trash from the dock. If the computer was working correctly
Trash would open and the Empty the Trash button would be dimmed.

I have found that if I change my finder view option from Column view to List
view the finder works correctly. If I change it back to Column view the finder
crashes again.

At this point I have lots of work arounds so can at least keep working normally.

Also, I am going to create a new account for
myself, but that will take time and effort.

must admit I'd love to fix this, or at least understand why my computer does
this and others do not.

I'm sure my finder has worked correctly for the past two years and only
recently became broken.
