Hi Daniela,
I'm not a strong mail user. I'm sorry this happened to you. It would
be very stressful to me if this happened.
The only thing I can think to try is to try pressing rebuild the last option in
the mailbox tab in Mail.
Other then that I would probably go to a time machine backup or a Carbon Copy
cloner backup., that is if you have either available.
Sorry I don't have more or better suggestions.
