I actually do not have an iphone but tried the ios4.0
user agent string from safari so it would tell the site I was
having trouble with that I was an iphone to see if I got
anything useful. It made no difference.
I have tried voiceover on my wife's iphone and on an
ipad owned by our department here at work and I could
immediately tell this is something that one who is blind can
certainly learn how to use.
As for changing the browser or user-agent string in
safari, it is my understanding that this setting has no effect
on how safari behaves other than to tell the remote system that
it is dealing with whatever you say your user agent is. If it
sends out something safari doesn't understand, that's too bad.
If the fact that it is safari makes some web site refuse to work
at all, this lie may save your day if safari understands enough
of what the remote site sends to function.
