Now that I know everything was okay, I tried changing
the user agent string. It is very easy and once you reset it,
you go back to the main safari window to make your connection
using the modified user agent string. The change is only good
for that safari session and it automatically reverts back to
Automatic the next time you call safari so one doesn't have to
worry about forgetting to put it back and making other things
not work. In my case, the web site I was trying to use delivered
the same broken page after trying Internet Explorer 7, 8 and 9
and even iphone IOS4. I know we don't support Apple products on
our site, but I wanted to see if maybe it might spit out a
different web source and things might accidentally work better.
They didn't, but it is nice to know this feature exists.
Too bad firefox for the MAC isn't ready for Voiceover
yet. My wife has a Mac but has normal vision so she uses firefox
and has very little trouble.
In an ideal situation, there should be more than one
browser so that if one doesn't work, there is a Plan B.
