Hi Matthew,

This is a bit orthogonal answer to your question, but as an alternative to
buying VMWare Fusion from their web site, you might consider purchasing the
MacUpdate Spring 2012 Bundle, which will give you 11 apps, including VMWare
Fusion 4, for the same price of $49.99 that you would pay for VMWare Fusion 4
from their online store -- assuming you can navigate to the submit your order
on VMWare's site.

I will note that the MacUpdate site does require that you negotiate a Captcha
in order to create your account. However, this is a one time thing. After
this, you can always log into your account, and retrieve a record of your
purchases, serial numbers, and links to download the items that you have
previously purchased. The MUpromo Spring and Fall bundle sales can be quite
good, and the current sale runs for the next 11 days. The reason I haven't
posted about this earlier is that I'm not certain about the accessibility of
some of the apps in the current bundle. For example, I think that Lynne used
PDFpen, and really liked it, but said that it was not accessible to VoiceOver
for the function she most wanted -- which was creating forms and filling out
PDFs. On the other hand, I've heard on another list that a VoiceOver user has
gotten in touch with the devs to work on those features. Some other apps, like
Drive Genius for cleaning and defragging disks, are reported to wo
rk well with VoiceOver (apart from a warning window that comes up on first
use, that you have to use Window Chooser menu (VO-F2 twice) to access). I
think Typinator, which is a keystroke expander, might work with VoiceOver.
Phone to Mac is a program that lets you transfer files between your Mac and
your iPhone. Anyway here's the link to the site:

I'll also mention that for people who might be interested in an accessible DVD
ripper, that DVDRemaster Pro is on sale from the mupromo site at half price
($24.99). The site says this price is good for 11 days, but I think that's an
error, since the mailer said it was only good for 1 day -- which is normal. It
probably will run through the weekend at this price. You can use a trial
download from the site. Note that you cannot access a trial download or
purchase this app at the discounted price if you use the Mac App store.

DVDRemaster Pro on sale this weekend at mupromo.com:

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
