Hello Kevin I have encountered a number of occasions where I've got errors that say things like "I'm sorry; I can only listen to US English", and things like that. But I have managed to get some responses from it and the initial impressions are very good. It didn't seem to require much voice training; unlike other speech recognition systems I have seen. So yes; I do think it's worthwhile getting to know how it all fits together.
Some of the syntactical commands are obvious; although I haven't yet dared send an email dictated using it; nor have I successfully completed a text message. I can get it started by saying "Send Message To Dad". It found Dad's number, and opened up a text message. I can then put some text into it but when I say things like "Send Message", or "End Of Message", the "Send Message" text went into the message body; so I presume I have that syntax wrong. All the same, I can see Siri proving a highly useful tool; especially for Gordon. Thanks. You could ask Siri: What time is it? Do I need a jacket today? How's my day looking? Wake me up tomorrow at 6:30 AM. • Just talk to it normally. No need for talking excessively slowly or loudly. It does a nice job of picking up what you're saying and responding to you. <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>.
