I agree with sara, quicktime will work just fine for that, You
shouldn't need the pro version just for that, but if you find you
like to edit the lectures, or combine classes, then an upgrade to pro
may be worth the 30 bucks, but for just recording lectures, the
version that ships with osx is perfectly fine.
