Hello James; I apologise for the delayed response.

• There is Stanza, which will allow you to view Epub documents from LexCycle.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find the developer's website at the moment, as
it seems to have been acquired by Amazon. There is quite a bit of info on the
web though if you type into Google, "Stanza os x ", some very interesting links
pop up. One article that peaked my interest, is that Stanza now seems to have
support for Adobe E-Books, possibly negating the need for Adobe's Digital
Editions.

I'm sure we have a version of Stanza in our collection; so I will investigate.
Even if it isn't the latest and greatest; if it lets us view the document
that's really all I care about. :) I should have thought of Stanza at the
beginning, but didn't – so thank you for bringing it to my notice.

• You should also be able to get it from the App Store, though this would not
be my preferred choice.

No, mine neither.

• There are other alternatives for viewing including the aforementioned Digital
Editions, though a bit of hunting through Adobe's site is necessary to find the
accessible "Preview" edition. You should also be able to find it in the list
archives though, as it has ben mentioned here several times.

I'm concerned, to be honest, as to why on earth all of these plist preferences
documents exist in the document folder I want to view when extracting it as a
zip file which, so I believe, is essentially what they are. I could be wrong
there; but I'm sure I remember somebody mentioning that a while back on list.

• As far as editing/modifying, the only two creation tools I am aware of are
Pages and Nisus Writer Pro. Both of these do an excellent job, but require
considerable time on the part of the user.

I can check that out; we do have a license for it.

Thank you for going out of your way here.

Lynne
