As is the case with most people, yes. Once your virtual machines is configured 
though, all you have to do is to set an alias to point to the virtual machine 
file and away you go. I have encountered two people locally who asked me to 
configure Parallels in this way for them; because it's more compatible with 
certain hardware drivers than Fusion is, and Parallels Desktop is definitely 
still much faster than Fusion when the virtual machine is up and running.

In fact, we have an installation of Parallels Desktop on one of our Macs; and 
on the rare occasions when I need to use Windows on that machine, it 
out-performed Fusion to such an extent that I removed Fusion altogether. I do 
not, and will not bother with Boot Camp. It's wasteful in our circumstances.
