After upgrading to ML today I had no sound in my VM and solved this by re-connecting the virtualized sound card in Fusion. VMWare Menu / VIrtual Machine / Sound card / Connect sound card. I haven't used the VM enough to say whether there are or aren't other bugs. 2011 MBA, Mountain Lion, VMWare Fusion 4.1.3.730298.
