James, *thank you, thank you, thank you*!!!!! I'd already remembered in my foggy brain about the go menu and the hidden library by the time I'd written my message to the list and purged the dumb files from the support folder, but completely forgot about the preferences folder, so naturally the dumb chrome app came back from the dead as soon as I clicked on a link again in mail even though I rebooted and emptied the trash! I'll have another go round and see what happenes this time!
