Yes a demo would be nice as I have lots and lots of music so would be
nice to kind of mix them like a DJ.

I don't think you're going to have problems to be honest. You can change the
way the turntables work in the preferences. I'll be playing with this more
today so I will let you know. I may even be able to record a demo.

How can one use QN to d that? Also, how can you cue up songs and then once the
cue is done it stops? Another issue these people had when I auditioned is that
when they wanted me to do a voice break after a certain song, I'd try and pause
it where the song should end so it doesn't go into the next one and they
complained about Djay spinning the song down instead of stopping. I just need
to really learn how to use Djay for broadcasting really.

I agree. I keep my slider to 20 percent due to the mic I use. Actually I just
use quick nav and I quickly bring my slider up to what I had it to before.
It's not pretty but until the dev can work it to where you had the slidder last
then you are pretty much good to go.
I actually remember suggestion that to him anhd he said that his team does not
think it's a good idea as it can lead to feedback loops if you are not careful
and you are going through a real amp.

Hmm. The problem is that the last time I checked, when turning off that mic
button, all Djay does is turn the Mic slider to zero. When you turn it on again
you have to turn it back up to 100. I wish that when you turned it on the
slider would set the volume where you had it before. I failed an internet
station audition because of this issue.

DJay has mic on/off buttons. As I said in a previous post you do not need an
external mixer.

What's the best way in Djay if one doesn't have a mixer to successfully do
voice breaks in the like? Will get a mixer eventually but if I were on Windows
using SPL, it wouldn't need any mixer or anything. I'm just not sure how with
Djay and or NiceCast I'd be able to do voice breaks, make Djays crossfades
better, etc.
Thanks.

Not wishing to start a debate as this isn't a Windows group, I think that for
what it is, SPL Studio/creator is very expensive indeed. People rave about it
but I submit that, if they were to try things like OTS AV DJ Pro Classic,
(assuming they insist on working on the dark side), they might change their
minds. Sure, that is expensive too. That's why I think I got a bargain as
DJay only set me back £14.00 GBP. I am told that NiceCast screws up some
kernel services which is a shame, I was hoping to use that as a server. Not to
grab any audio stream, just purely as an encoding server.

Oh i agree and you can even use DSP effects you bought or are free that you put
in the audio units folder under your user name. it is just very very good. I
wish they would fix the bug where vo is reading the art work instead of the
track in the auto mix table but apart from that if you watch yourself and
don't accidentally hit right arrow in the middle of a song you are good to go.
I've been using this software for about a month and although it is not spl
studio it still works and works very very very well. I plan on testing it in a
live remote session in about 2 weeks so let's hope it works there to.
