Hi Jim To my knowledge, there is only one version of Abbyy FineReader for Mac, which is ABBYY FineReader Express. The name is perhaps misleading, but that's how it is I believe. You might also want to consider VueScan which is a very good OCR utility these days. DocuScan+ is really quite basic and relies on cloud technology which I know is a matter of deep concern to some, and I totally understand that. For confidential documents mandatorily storing them in the cloud, especially when one doesn't know who has access to them and who has access to the server itself is something which I know some find extremely unpalatable and I totally understand and agree with that disquiet. FineReader Express and VueScan used to work well in tandem actually, and perhaps that is still the case. I am sure Anne would be in a good position to answer that as I know she has used that combination of OCR extensively.
Just a few comments for whatever they are worth. Oh yes, and I believe you can now get a version of Kurzweil for Mac, if you care to go that route. How it works, I don't know. But I believe Bryan had something to say on list a short time ago on that subject. You might want to check the list archives.
