Hello Gordon, Amadeus Pro will let you automatically split a track into segments according to markers and save into different file names. I think it defaults to assigning the track the marker name, which you have options to control, but don't quote me on that. This was a handy feature that I used when I was digitizing old cassette tapes a few years ago. You could have the program automatically put down markers at periods of silence greater than some minimum time, and then split the tracks at the marker positions. And since you can undo actions, it's fairly easy to experiment with settings like the silence interval you want to use. Of course, you can set down markers manually, as well, or have the program set down a certain number of markers at even intervals.
