This way sounds like the way to go.  Does it use M or left bracket to insert a 
marker?

Amadeus pro can split according to markers. I record all of my announcements at 
once, normalize the thing, split and I'm done. Ok. It still takes a while but 
it's a lot easier to record 1 file hitting the button for recording when you 
want to pause, record your announcement, go back, listen and place your 
markers, then split. You need to though i think place one at the beginning
