Hello Esther To be honest, we have so many sound editors that it is highly likely I did indeed get the letters confused. Basically, what he wants to do is record a single file in which there are a number of time check announcements for the auto-play-out system we are going to be using. Instead of having to save around 10000 files manually, each containing a time check message for every minute of a 24-hour period which, I'm sure you'll agree would be tedious to say the least! Gordon is looking to do it like this: 1. Initiate the recording using which ever editor happens to be the easiest on which ever platform. 2. Record as many time check announcements per session as possible before he goes totally insane and has to stop. 3. Whilst recording, insert an on-the-fly marker between each message so that the file can be saved along the line of the markers. 4. Save the file, go and recover his sanity and then repeat the process until the job is done.
Hence my question; we are trying to decide which editor to use. Thanks. I will check the list archive to run down any relevant posts. Are you sure you haven't confused the letter "T" with the letter "P" (as in "play head") for the command to drop a marker? I think that Sarah mentioned this in one of her posted replies to Gordon, and there's also a post where I replied to Chris' question on creating ringtones with Amadeus Lite with some examples of dropping markers and extending selections to the next marker to cut out sections of a track.
