I totally agree with John. If it's mainly just the thing with ProTools, then just go back to Lion, and then once up, let me know, and I'll send you a link to download a dmg of ProTools 10.0. Obviously, it won't be a crack, or pyreted or the like. You'll still have to use your ProTools 10 Ilok authorization on your Ilok dongle. The only thing I'd be giving you is the DVD itself. That DVD won't even run, period! without a valid Ilok license, so it's not like I'm giving you something illegal. If you don't have a license, it just won't run, and you'll get absolutely nowhere. The only reason I'd do this is because you can't get 10.0 anymore from Avid's web site that I know of. All they now have is like, 10.3, or 10.4, something like that, which has the compatibility issues. Just know, if I do upload it though, it'll be about a 2 or so maybe 3, gig file. I'll do it though if you really need the DVD that badly.

Thank you kindly,

Christopher-Mark Gilland.

Subject: Re: installing leopard

I would see no reason why anyone would want to go back to Leopard. That is taking several steps back with VoiceOver and, not to mention, serious compatibility issues with third party apps no longer supporting Leopard. Unless you have a really good reason to use it, such as it's on a backup system, or like me, you have an older Mac system that can't be upgraded beyond Leopard and you use it just to mess with, it's not practical to take a Lion system and go backwards. Not to mention, it's a royal pain in the behind to try. In fact, the hardware probably won't even support trying to put an older version on the OS anyway. If you have bought a system with Lion installed on it, you simply can't down grade because of the hardware and firmware.

What are the problems you are even having that would compel you to consider Leopard? That's a pretty drastic idea.

With all the compatibility issues I am having with one program or another, I am thinking of putting leopard on my mac. How do I go about installing leopard on a machine with mountain lion on it please?
