I dono if it comes with Lion, or Mountain Lion, but I can speak to say my system came with Snowleopard, yet, I updated to Mountain Lion. I still can roll it back though to S L very easily. Maybe that's why though since that's what it initially had, unlike with your system. I dono...

Does this mean since my Macbook Pro came with Lion Preinstalled I cannot downgrade to Snow Leopard? I was hoping to do so as an absolute last resort if all hard drives, both internal and external, failed or had to be replaced and the only option would be an Os X Dvd.

I would see no reason why anyone would want to go back to Leopard. That is taking several steps back with VoiceOver and, not to mention, serious compatibility issues with third party apps no longer supporting Leopard. Unless you have a really good reason to use it, such as it's on a backup system, or like me, you have an older Mac system that can't be upgraded beyond Leopard and you use it just to mess with, it's not practical to take a Lion system and go backwards. Not to mention, it's a royal pain in the behind to try. In fact, the hardware probably won't even support trying to put an older version on the OS anyway. If you have bought a system with Lion installed on it, you simply can't down grade because of the hardware and firmware.

What are the problems you are even having that would compel you to consider Leopard? That's a pretty drastic idea.

With all the compatibility issues I am having with one program or another, I am thinking of putting leopard on my mac. How do I go about installing leopard on a machine with mountain lion on it please?

Thank you,
