I'm curious. Where would one obtain Java for the mac? There are a few
other java apps I'd like to test.

Open Office is only accessible under Snow Leopard as far as I am aware
though I have come across somebody who upgraded from snow Leopard to Lion
and managed to retain accessibility.
He also had to install Mac version of Java to achieve this.
I tried it under Lion and disappointingly found it completely unusable
with
large part of the system silent and no typing echo.

I've heard mixed opinions on this. How is the accessibility of Open
Office,
opinions not withstanding. I understand that for some people it's just

their cup of tea, but leaving opinions out, going only on fact, is
OpenOffice worth my time in at least getting and experimenting with? I
hear
that a lot of the dialogs in it are quite nonstandard, and though they're
somewhat doable, I hear they're kind of weird until you figure them out
and
know what you're doing. I just wanted to see if anyone else has tried it,
and what kind of luck if any you had with it, even if only minimum
satisfaction.
