Basically the way I was taught, you mount by hitting cmd down arrow on the smg. this is like a virtual disk. I know dmg stands for something but cannot remember what lol!
so open it with cmd down arrow or cmd o which ever is closer with your hand. then when the window shows up tab to the application which will end in *.app for example, mac app.app then copy the app to the clipboard and paste it in the apps folder.
