Hi all, This does sound interesting. I've never had to boot my Mac up in Safe Mode, but I can see why it wouldn't load any sound drivers, and so on. The exact same is said for the other OS. I normally usually use recovery mode to try and get me out of situations like these, although Safe Mode/Single User Mode would be better as it gives you more control of the system such as changing partitions, etc. have you tried repairing Disk Permissions in Recovery Mode? That may fix it. I would think that partitioning the disk would work, no matter what type of disk is used, e.g SATA, SSD, etc, although as James said, it has to be in MSDos (NTFS) format, as the other OS doesn't like FAT32, and unfortunately BootCamp doesn't format the drive in NTFS, but in FAT32, meaning that the user has to format it themselves again during the other OS setup. Sorry for the long email, but I'm finding the topic interesting! Hope these tips lead you in the right direction! Regards. Lewis.
