Hi Paula,

Have you used barcode scanning apps before? The DigitEyes web site does have
lots of good tips, but the main problem is locating the barcode. I know of
some users who were learning to use DigitEyes, first used the free RedLaser
barcode scanner app to locate the barcode. That app is very fast, and is
easier to use to locate a barcode. The problem for international users is that
it's mainly set up to identify products in the U.S., and won't get you access
to the databases that DigitEyes has -- for example, for products in Australia.
But if you're starting to learn to use DigitEyes, and want to train yourself on
how far away to hold the product, how to move around to locate the barcode on
the label, etc, it certainly helps to know where the barcode is! There are
also lots of tips and suggestions on the DigitEyes web site on how to scan.
Also, some places may sell these organizer storage racks that are designed to
hold a number of standard sized cans, laid on their sides,
in your cupboard shelves. This can make it easier to rotate the can under
your iPhone camera while you locate the barcode that is generally near the
seam. Because the cans are exactly sized to fit together on their side in the
rack, you can slowly adjust the section of a can that faces your iPhone camera
without having the can roll all over the counter.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
