It helps to have good light, I found that a florescent light works well.
Also, make sure you are finding the barcode, like on boxes, it is always on 
the back, same with bags, so feeling the seams will help you locate the 
back.  On boxes, the corner seam that you can tell where the cardboard came 
together, is on the back side.

lol. I gave up even after using the training materials I never got the thing 
to work.  Ou have to try and find the label and for me that was the hardest
