Hi Sarah, Laurie, and Others, There are two apps that I know of that give extreme weather warnings for the U.S., and that have been recommended by VoiceOver users. One of them is iMap Weather Radio, as Sarah suggested. The other is Weather Alert USA. At one time, last July, I read a number of posts from people who claimed that one or the other app did, or did not, work for them. (The main issue seems to have been there were a number of people who thought iMap Weather Radio did not supply alerts to them in extreme weather conditions.) At the time, both apps cost $9.99. I do use iMap Weather Radio (in preference to Weather Alert USA., which I tried when the price dropped). Be aware that the constant monitoring will tend to drain your iPhone battery. I leave this running on my iPad, which has a longer battery life between charges. (Note that my iPad supports 3G + WiFi). iMap Weather Radio is an iPhone only app, while Weather Alert U.S.A. is a universal app. I think that Sarah and I both got iMap Weather Radio when it was offered free for one day, following a period of really severe weather warnings. Disclaimer: I haven't tried running Weather Alert USA at all under iOS 6. On the other hand, it hasn't been updated since August 2012. They dropped the price down from $9.99 a few months after that.
