I'll check out the suggestions. 

For now, I installed TWC (The Weather Channel) and enabled severe weather 
alerts for my home city. I'll let you know if that is at all  helpful after we 
have one of our inevitable severe weather situations this spring. 

I'll also let you know if this app is at all helpful for warning information 
while traveling. 

I'll look at the suggestions you've shared. In the meanwhile, this TWC app is 
free and I'll see how it goes. (smile)
