Yes, I knew that Apple were putting in place a system which would use Facetime
over a Cell network in IOS7 but - as far as I knew - it had nothing whatever to
do with the HD Voice protocol that I ran a test with today.
The HD Voice protocol is not an Apple exclusive feature, Samsung S Phones use
it along with Nokia, other Google phones etc and the technology was actually
launched in Australia over 12 months ago apparently - according to the stuff
I've been checking out today.
Making a HD Voice call is don in exactly the same way as you'd make an ordinary phone
call, you dial the number from the key pad, you take it from your contacts, you tell Siri
to "Call Dane Trethowan" etc.

Note that I used the actual Speakerphone of the iPhone 5 so - if you use
something like the Senheiser MM500 or MM550 headsets or any compatible
Bluetooth 4.0 Speakerphone unit such as the Braven 650 then quality may sound
better again.
