Hi!
OK you could make a password protected disc image with disc utility and [if you 
like incripted as well] and then put any text edit doc's in there!
and then save it to Document's like I have!
When you need access to said Document's hit Command+O on that DMG in Document's 
you will be asked for the password and then the DMG will be mounted on your 
desktop interact with it and select the Document you wish to look at and 
pressing Command+O on it will launch it into text Edit!
So you can do with it what you need to!
