Hello,
I am having problems installing Maverick on my 2009 iMac model.

I went to App store and pressed the free upgrade button. That downloaded about
5 GB. On download completion I was asked to agree the licence which I did. I
was then asked to select the disk on which to install Maverick.

I normally have 2 disks Mac HD which is the hard disk inside the iMac and an
external disk Mac Backup which I use for time machine backups and SuperDuper!
backups.

Before trying to install Maverick I unplugged Mac Backup. I did that in case
the install of Maverick damaged the SuperDuper! backup I had just taken to
rescue my system if Maverick proved troublesome.

The choice of disks offered by Maverick was thus only Mac HD but this was
dimmed as it was flagged as "used for time machine backups" which is not true!

So I could not install Maverick.

I then plugged in Mac Backup so that Maverick install had the choice of two
disks. It did not like Mac Backup as it claimed that this had no guide
partition, and it did not like Mac HD as it still thought that this was used
for time machine backups.

Any thoughts on what I should do? Should I perhaps plug Mac Backup in again and
retry the Maverick download and install?

Best regards....
