It is a while since I used Blackboard and when I did it was on a Windows
system but when I did the accessibility was extremely flaky with an, in
particular, inaccessible file viewer console.
I had limited success in downloading documents and then opening them in
their native apps but this was not always possible depending upon how the
material was posted.
In the end I succeeded in getting, as a reasonable adjustment, material
posted onto Blackboard to be emailed to me separately as an email
attachment.

Dear listers,

I am looking to do a degree in the new year, as some of you may know.

Apparently, a lot of universities in the UK use Blackboard for their virtual
learning web site and will be a key part of the resources I will need to
use.

I have to provide an assessment of the assistance I will need for the course
and I have heard rumours that Blackboard is not very friendly for screen
readers.

I would appreciate any comments or experience of Blackboard and any
alternative solutions should it prove not to be accessible.

Thanks in advance
Ian
