Hi All,

Thought you would be interested that a Pro version of the ABBYY FineReader OCR
program for the Mac has just become available from the Mac App Store and from
ABBYY's web site. The Pro version purchased from the Mac App Store requires
that you be running either Mountain Lion or Mavericks. The Pro version that
you buy from ABBYY's web site can support Lion. Both versions sell for $99.99.
Also, there's an $80 upgrade option that is only available from the ABBYY web
site,

This is supposed to be using a faster, and upgraded recognition engine. Base
language interface support is available for English, German, and Russian. Here
are a few links I found interesting:
• The ABBYY Why Upgrade page:
http://finereader.abbyy.com/pro_for_mac/why_upgrade/
• MacNN's brief article announcement of today's release, "ABBYY ships
FineReader Pro OCR software for Mac":
http://bit.ly/1dTk0y2

I've given the shortened link. The full one is:
http://www.macnn.com/articles/13/12/05/scans.converts.documents.into.numerous.formats/

Note that this software product doesn't show up yet on any of the Web pages
that list ABBYY products eligible for academic discounts.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
