I used the tool bar to turn off the track changes. I'm not sure if the student will see i"ve changed words and deleted text here and there, but I did leave comments after I did it.
Btw bringing focus for some reason didn't work I had to restart voice over every time I lost focus. I dunno if this version of pages is buggy but I"m hoping apple can fix the stuff I've reported to them thus far. Take care.
