Make sure that blue tooth is on under system preferences. Also make sure it is connected under blue tooth under settings on the phone. Turn Vo off on the Mac and turn Quick nav on or off on the keyboard just to make sure the app is working. To click on something, you press the up and down arrows together on the keyboard.
