I know this may be slightly off topic, but I have an older Enabling Juliette Pro 60, which I need to attach a parallel to USB adaptor for it to interface with my PC. Since I have Win 8.0 installed in bootcamp on my MBA, I have utilized it in the same manner with no problem and I can emboss just fine. HTH.
